Prepared work for your AI,
before you ask.
Vaner is a quiet desktop app that learns what you're working on and prepares review notes, briefs, and patch-shaped diffs for whichever AI assistant you use. Inspect the evidence, export only what you choose, and keep your files untouched until you act.
A quiet companion that prepares ahead, so your AI doesn't start cold.
Vaner lives in your menu bar. It learns the project you're focused on, prepares useful work in the background while you work, and shows a small feed of inspectable items when something is ready — no copy-paste, no extra tabs.
Open it from your menu bar — that's the whole interface.
Vaner doesn't take over your screen. A small dial sits in the menu bar; click it and you see what's been prepared, why Vaner prepared it, the evidence behind it, and the safe action available.
When something needs your attention, the dial gently lights up. When it doesn't, it stays out of the way. Prepared diffs are never applied automatically.
Less waiting. Fewer follow-ups. Sharper answers.
Most AI tools start every prompt cold — they re-read your files, miss the recent thread, and leave you copy-pasting context. Vaner does that work continuously in the background, so by the time you ask a question, useful notes, briefs, or diffs can already be waiting.
Your work stays on your machine.
Vaner is a desktop app, not a cloud service. The pondering, the context, the memory — it all happens locally. Your AI gets context the same way you'd hand it a relevant note: deliberately. Read the full Privacy Policy.
A few things people ask.
Do I need to be technical to use Vaner?
No. Download, open it, sign in to your AI app once. Vaner picks up from there. There's no setup file to edit, no terminal, no project configuration.
Which AI apps does it work with?
Today: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Copilot, and Zed. Gemini and Perplexity are next. If your assistant supports the open MCP standard, Vaner works with it.
Does Vaner upload my files?
No. Vaner runs locally and only sends context to your AI when your AI requests it — the same way you'd attach a file to a message.
How does Vaner know when to work?
Auto Focus detects supported AI clients and Vaner integrations so it can follow the workspace you're using. It does not read prompts, window titles, browser tabs, clipboard, terminal history, or arbitrary apps.
How is this different from search or RAG?
Search and RAG only run when you ask a question — and they read your files cold each time. Vaner thinks ahead while you work, so when you ask, the answer is already on deck.
Can I use Vaner at work?
Yes. Everything stays on your machine by default. For teams that need self-hosted models, audit logs, or enterprise SSO, see the developer docs.
How much does it cost?
Vaner is free and open source under Apache 2.0 — use it, fork it, ship it inside your company. The source lives on GitHub. We may offer a hosted version with team features later, but the desktop app stays free.
I'm a developer — how do I integrate this with my own agent?
Head to the developer page. CLI, MCP setup, self-hosted backends, and the source build live there.
