Who These Terms Are With
These terms are between you and Borgels Olsen Holding ApS, VAT DK39700425, for your use of vaner.ai, Vaner downloads, documentation, install prompts, release assets, and related public materials.
Open-Source License
Vaner source code is currently made available under the Apache License 2.0 unless a repository or file says otherwise. The Apache License controls your rights to use, copy, modify, and distribute that open-source code.
These website terms do not replace the Apache License for open-source code. They do apply to the website, documentation, trademarks, branding, download flows, public hosted materials, and any non-code services or communications we provide.
Current Free Use and Future Paid Offerings
Vaner is currently offered as free open-source software. We reserve the right to add paid Pro, Team, Enterprise, hosted, support, managed, warranty, indemnity, SLA, compliance, or other commercial layers later.
Future paid offerings may require separate terms, order forms, data processing agreements, service descriptions, acceptable-use rules, or payment terms. Buying or receiving a paid offering in the future will not reduce rights you already have under an applicable open-source license.
Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for how you install, configure, run, and use Vaner.
- Keep appropriate backups before using developer tools, generated patches, automation, or AI-assisted workflows.
- Review all generated notes, diffs, commands, prompts, and AI outputs before relying on them.
- Protect secrets, credentials, confidential data, regulated data, source code, and third-party information in your workspace.
- Choose local or hosted model providers, plugins, package managers, and AI assistants according to your own security, legal, and compliance requirements.
- Comply with applicable laws, third-party licenses, employer policies, provider terms, and repository rules.
No Professional Advice
Vaner may prepare context, evidence, drafts, diffs, or other outputs. Those outputs are not legal, financial, medical, security, compliance, or other professional advice. You decide whether and how to use them.
No Warranty
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Vaner, the website, downloads, documentation, prompts, examples, release assets, and related materials are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties or conditions of any kind, express or implied.
We do not promise that Vaner will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, complete, compatible with your environment, suitable for your use case, or free from data loss, regressions, vulnerabilities, hallucinations, incorrect recommendations, or harmful outputs.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Borgels Olsen Holding ApS, Vaner contributors, maintainers, affiliates, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, punitive, or similar damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, code, business, opportunities, or production time.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for claims related to the website, downloads, documentation, current free product surfaces, or these terms is limited to the greater of EUR 100 or the amount you paid us for the specific offering giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the claim. For the current free offering, that amount is zero.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence where non-waivable, or statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Third-Party Services
Vaner may link to or work with third-party services, including GitHub, package managers, model providers, AI assistants, IDEs, plugins, operating-system services, and documentation providers. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, security, terms, privacy practices, model behavior, costs, or outputs.
Acceptable Use
Do not use Vaner or the website to attack systems, distribute malware, violate laws, infringe rights, abuse infrastructure, bypass security controls, harvest data unlawfully, or interfere with other users, repositories, maintainers, or distribution channels.
Intellectual Property and Branding
The Apache License may grant rights in open-source code, but it does not grant permission to use Vaner names, logos, marks, domain names, trade dress, or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or official status. Do not remove copyright, license, or attribution notices where required.
Security and Support
Current support and security guidance is published in the public repositories and documentation. Unless we separately agree in writing, we do not provide guaranteed support, uptime, maintenance windows, response times, warranties, indemnities, or service levels for the current free offering.
Changes
We may update these terms as Vaner evolves. The latest version will be posted at this page with an updated effective date. If a future paid or hosted offering has separate terms, those separate terms will govern that offering.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, excluding conflict-of-law rules, except where non-waivable local law gives you additional rights. Courts in Denmark will have jurisdiction unless applicable law requires another venue.
